Kingston SE is located at the southeastern end of Encounter Bay and the Coorong. The town was named after George Strickland Kingston, an Australian politician and architect. The 'SE' extension (South East) on its name was to distinguish it from another 'Kingston' in the state which is now officially named "Kingston-On-Murray". The northern entrance to the town is dominated by a big lobster known as "Larry" by the locals. The population swells during peak holiday seasons and it industries include winemaking, sheep and dairy farming and of course fishing.

Avenue Emus

Is an emu farm in the centre of the Limestone Coast region of South Australia.
Your guides here will inform you about emus, their habitat and how it lives. Have a photo or two taken with some of the quiter ones. There are also Emu products for sale such as Emu skins, Emu oil and of course Emu eggs that are decorated. There is even Emu Mettwurst! Visit the emus and have a day to remember!

Cape Jaffa Lighthouse

Cape Jaffa Lighthouse was originally located on a rocky reef, 8 Km offshore. It was dismantled and rebuilt in the town as a tourist attraction. You can also get a feel of what it was like for the lighthouse keepers and there families.

Kingston National Trust Museum

Located at 23 Cooke Street is the Kingston National Trust Museum. Items on display include Aboriginal items, typewriters, telephones, shop scales, many household goods, saddles, and much more. There is also a large amount of registers and records that have recorded much of history of the area that are available for browsing.

The Big Lobster

Rising 17 metres above the ground and weighing 4 tonnes, The Big Lobster is pretty hard to miss as you drive into Kingston SE. Souvenirs are available and you can also buy cooked lobster. There is also a Tourist Information centre here.

Kingston South East Golf Club

The Kingston SE Golf Club is an eighteen hole course with a total length of 5,915 metres. It is Par 73 with an Australian course rating of 72. The fairways are gently undulating which makes for easy walking for all ages.
