Millicent, named after Millicent Glenn, wife of one of the early pioneers and daughter of the first Anglican Bishop of Adelaide, was proclaimed in 1870. Its identity began to develop when pine plantations were developed in the ranges near the township. Mt Muirhead, the large hill that dominates Millicent is one of the oldest volcanoes in this volcanic region.

Canunda National Park

Is a large park of mainly sand dunes and a spectacular coastline with Limestone cliffs to the north. The bulk of the coastline comprises of surf beaches, suitable only for experienced surfers. It also has a walking trail along the cliffs at Cape Buffon.
13 kilometres south-west of Millicent

Jubilee Park

Jubilee Park is just a short walk from the main shopping streets of Millicent. It is surrounded by gardens and lawns, and has a playground and barbeque facilities.

Lake McIntyre

Lake McIntyre is a bird watchers paradise with observation hides a boardwalk, native trees and an interpretive centre. The boardwalk and bridge join the walking trail with the barbeque area. Numerous water plants have been planted to attract bird life and help with the ecology of the lake.

Millicent National Trust Living History Museum

The Museum is one of the State's largest and best local museums. It has an excellent collection of wagons and carriages. It also tells the history of Millicent from early times when it was surrounded by swamps and the how these were drained.
Also found here is the Visitor Information Centre and a Craft gallery.

Millicent Swimming Lake

This man-made Lake is surrounded by lawns and trees and is a perfect place to relax and unwind on a balmy summers day. There is a playground for the kids and barbeque facilities are on hand. There is also a kiosk that supplies food and drinks if a BBQ isn’t your thing. Open December to March.

The Friends of Canunda and Beachport parks built this lookout that has beautiful views of Rivoli Bay

Millicent Golf Course

Millicent Golf Course has 18 holes located in a natural bush setting and its fast greens, undulating watered fairways and challenging bunkers, makes playing here a true delight. Groups and social clubs welcome.
